Upward mobility is a registered charity and provides support and opportunities for young adults with learning disabilities and autism. Through access to creative workshops, tailored support and educational activities the young adults develop confidence, fuel the imagination and enhance life skills.
A small group of young men from around East Lothian meet in the centre between October and April to attend cooking/lunch sessions. The group participate in the preparation of the food and then share a lunch together with their carers. The weekly sessions provide the young men with practical skills and opportunities to socialise. In April, the group move outside to their allotment and focus on planting and growing vegetables.
