North Berwick Community Centre is a registered charity No. SC 013505 and is regulated by OSCR (The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator).
The centre management committee members are all elected volunteers, they may have been nominated by centre groups or maybe individuals with an interest in the work of the centre. The other committee members are – a representative for North Berwick Community Council, the Councillor for the area, two youth representatives, the Centre Manager, East Lothian Council, Director of community services or their representative, other than the Centre Manager.
What does the management committee do?
They meet approximately every 6 weeks. They work in partnership with East Lothian Council’s Community and Partnerships in managing the centre and offering a programme of learning, recreational and leisure opportunities. They aim to be inclusive in what they offer and to be at the heart of the community providing opportunities for local people to improve and enrich their quality of life.
To ensure that the centre operates within the remit outlined in the Constitution, the Law and Good Practice. To be financially responsible and accountable for the funds, spent in accordance with the aims and objectives of the centre. To ensure that everyone using the centre is respected and valued.
